What Does Volkswagen Care Cover?
V
Volkswagen Care plans are organized by mileage intervals and vary based on vehicle model year. For 2018 and newer Volkswagen models, the main plan options cover scheduled maintenance visits at specific mileage points outlined in the vehicle USA Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
Volkswagen Care Basic includes the 10,000-mile and 20,000-mile manufacturer-recommended maintenance services. These visits generally include essential items such as oil and filter changes, multi-point inspections, and other required maintenance listed for those intervals.
Volkswagen Care Extra applies to the 30,000-mile scheduled maintenance visit, which often includes additional inspection and service items beyond the earlier maintenance intervals. Volkswagen Care Plus Package 1 covers the 40,000-mile and 50,000-mile services, while Package 2 covers the 60,000-mile and 70,000-mile intervals. Higher-mileage packages may also be available for drivers who plan to keep their vehicle longer.
- Volkswagen Care Basic: 10,000-mile and 20,000-mile service intervals
- Volkswagen Care Extra: 30,000-mile service interval

What Is Not Covered by Volkswagen Care?
V
Volkswagen Care is designed for scheduled maintenance, not unexpected repairs. Coverage is limited to the specific services listed for the applicable mileage intervals in the vehicle USA Warranty and Maintenance booklet. Repairs for mechanical breakdowns, worn brake components, hoses, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, and services outside the recommended maintenance schedule are not included.
Because Volkswagen Care is not an extended warranty or service contract, it does not replace mechanical repair coverage. Drivers who want protection beyond the factory warranty would need to consider a separate extended service agreement.
- Mechanical breakdown repairs are not covered
- Brake pads and linings are not covered
- Wheel alignment and balancing are not covered
- Hoses are not covered
- Services not listed in the USA Warranty and Maintenance booklet are excluded
- Service performed at non-authorized dealers does not qualify

What Are the Benefits of Volkswagen Care?
V
One of the biggest advantages of Volkswagen Care is the ability to lock in maintenance pricing ahead of time. By prepaying for covered service visits, owners can avoid future increases in labor and parts costs for those scheduled maintenance intervals. Each covered visit also uses genuine Volkswagen OEM parts and is handled by certified Volkswagen technicians.
A documented service history at an authorized Volkswagen dealership may also help support long-term vehicle value. For added convenience, Volkswagen Care can often be included in your vehicle loan or lease when purchased at the time of sale. New Volkswagen owners may also be able to add a plan before the first covered maintenance interval is due.
- Fixed parts-and-labor pricing helps lock in current rates
- Helps protect against future maintenance price increases
- Genuine Volkswagen OEM parts used at every covered service visit
- Certified Volkswagen technicians perform all covered maintenance
- Helps maintain a documented dealership service history
- May be financed with a vehicle loan or lease when purchased at time of sale
- Can be purchased before the first covered maintenance interval is due
